I found this cute little project through Pinterest the other day and just had to share!!

Simply blow up a balloon, adhere doilies with wallpaper glue, let the glue dry and then pop the balloon! But are there pieces of the balloon stuck to the doily...?  either way I will have to try it!!! Can you imagine a room full of these!?! I can.

An Endorsement for Sophie the Giraffe - If I ever saw ONE!

Yesterday we took the little miss up to Philly's Main Line for an outing with my friend and her baby. We hit up some local markets and festivals and had a grand time out and about with the kiddos.  We managed to safely squeeze both 7 months olds + 1 adult into the back seat of our tiny car.  And my friend snapped this picture of these two teething monsters working on their Sophie the Giraffe teething toys! If this isn't an endorsement for this toy, then I don't know what is!?!  It really is the perfect teething toy- I've blogged about the giraffe and other toys in teething tips as well as a handmade roundup of teething accessories.

Recipe Reviews, cooked up from Pinterest

I love Pinterest, in case you haven't noticed! And recently we put some of the recipes I've found to the test. I wanted to report back on the few we have tried. During our heat wave the other day the husband and I made Sparkling Strawberry Limeade. It was very tasty and tart!  The consistency was a bit thick, so for next time I would mash up the strawberries more than the recipe calls for.  Besides that, it was a lovely drink, perfect for summer and one that we are sure to repeat!

THEN last night, after a day out for our 3rd anniversary, the husband wanted to make Chocolate chip cookies. So I put Pinterest to the test and searched for a recipe and chose the most "pinned" or popular recipe for us to make. We cut the recipe in half and then cooked up half of the batch and froze the second half for later!  And the result- AWESOME.  A fun and chunky cookie, very decadent, the prefect end to our day out.

3rd Anniversary: Leather gift ideas

It is our 3rd wedding anniversary tomorrow and in the past we have celebrated with paper and cotton... this year the tradition is leather.  So I thought I would do a fun little roundup of some slightly decadent leather gifts that one could give to mark the occasion. This year, leather is not in our cards (dam) BUT a lovely lunch out sans baby is (our first after 7 months!). More on that tomorrow.

Handmade Shout Out: Forestbound etsy shop

This week's handmade shout out goes to Forestbound- the go to shop on etsy for upcycled canvas bags!  These bags are perfect for summer weekend vacations. Of course I would use mine everyday.  I love everything in this shop and have been drooling over her bags for a loooong time. Alice also makes custom bags. For one customer she made a bag from her grandfather's old army duffel!! What a great way to recycle and find a new use for something that would most likely stay in storage. Now this customer has a great way to remember her grandfather on a daily basis.
