A Love Letter to Summer

Hi all, Happy Monday! It's officially summer and with the fourth of July right around the corner, it feels like summer is moving fast already! Sorry for my blog absence last week (if you noticed), my husband's brother and his wife were in town from Alaska and then after they left the husband worked 4 days of 13 hour shifts... that really turned into 14-15 hour shifts. He leaves at 5:30/6am and most nights wouldn't get home until around 9pm, IE: after the kids are in bed- sad for everyone involved... Thus life was a bit full on for me, but I'm looking forward to his two days off this wednesday and thursday!

And stay tuned for this week's blog posts- progress on my summer bucket list, a family post about father's day and the kids, berry picking adventures, and NEW items coming to my etsy shop etc... Have a great start to your week!

A Love Letter to Summer... the last one of 2012?

I really wish there were 37 days in August this year, or 50... it just seems like the summer speed up right at the end and I'm not done going to the beach, playing in the sun, gardening... I haven't eaten enough soft serve or gone on enough bike rides. I didn't canoe, or chill in a lake... there's still so much more I want to squeeze out of the summer. This time of year and moments like this, remind me of a line from the Indigo Girls song "Mystery" where they sing, "I could go crazy on a night like tonight, when summer's beginning to give up her fight..." I love that idea, that visual... because that's the beauty of the seasons, their finiteness. And you bet that summer will fight it out in all her glory, until she graciously lets Autumn shine forth with her crisp days.  And so, here is my final Love Letter to Summer, I hope you enjoyed this series, and look for my Love Letter to Autumn weekly series starting next week!

A Love Letter to Summer: Sleeping outdoors...

As you may know, we went camping the other weekend with some friends in Maine. It was all too nice to be back in our old stomping grounds. Equally nice to camp in a place where humidity was not a huge hinderance. Plus it was really fun to share a tent with our 21 month old. Cute to wake up occasionally and see what she was snuggling up to, even if this meant a foot to my face on occasion. So for this week's Love Letter to Summer, I thought a little sleeping outdoors theme would be fun and hopefully inspiring! All images come from my pinterest board "Living without walls". Have a great start to your week!

A Love Letter to Summer

Hi all, well I'll admit I haven't been incredibly inspired to write my weekly Love Letter to Summer series of late (hence why I missed last week's if you noticed...) but this being the last week in July, I figured a Love Letter was in order! After compiling this little pictorial post I realize I need to eat more ice cream- specifically go out some night and grab a scoop at a local ice cream shop. We head to Maine this weekend to go camping and visit with friends, so some much needed summer activities will be taking place I'm sure. I'll keep yah posted! Have a great week!
