I have started our prep for moving to Maine... so our place is beginning to unravel a bit, but in many ways this is how it always is - a still life of sorts, looking "lived in".

where's waldo?
Millie has really learned the benefits of jumping up on furniture. And after a long walk she and Cameron went on today (while I was at work)tonight she is pretty sacked out amongst our crap-ola.
Tiny little super guy
We were out to dinner Friday night with some friends and some how this series from Sesame Street came up! I went and found it on youtube and wanted those that remembered it to take a trip down memory lane!

Summer sweater
Here it is! This is the summer sweater I am going to work on once my winter one is finally done! This yarn is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! And so soft, figures since I bought it from the baby section, and it's the prettiest shade of pink, nice and warm. It has a nice irregular width that moves from thin to slightly thicker, this picture doesn't do it justice!
Here is the pattern I am working from. Cute vintage sweater, huh? (click on the picture for a larger view if you want the pattern for yourself!)

flower arranging
Cameron bought me some flowers last week and by now they needed a little facelift, their ends cut and redistributed into other vessels. As anyone might know from our wedding and wedding reception- I like using untraditional "vases" to display flowers.
I have many talented flower arrangers in my family and of course there are many ways to arrange a nice bouquet. I recently read one theory by the Barefoot Contessa that I really like- she advised to simply plunk them in the vase as if they were freshly picked from a field or garden. She believes that this is a good way to make your arrangement look natural. (note: you can always click on my pictures to view them larger)

a Sweater, huh?
I've been going on about how great it is that spring is here... and then I go and buy Millie a hand knit sweater off of ETSY!? Bizarre... yes, but after many knitting projects come and gone and I still haven't made her a sweater- I figured what the heck, I'll buy her one in the mean time and this one is Sooooo nice and a great price- I just couldn't resist. It has little buttons on either side and despite her expression she doesn't actually mind it! I was hesitant to get her a sweater but since she is cold in even 50 degree weather I thought maybe I am being cruel by not getting her one, then again she might think I AM cruel FOR getting her one! At least she will be warm!

check out the feathers on that guy
I said I would post pictures from our trip to NH and Maine.. unfortunately I literally took two pictures while we were there!! WHAT!? I think it was because I was busy knitting in NH and then it rained thee entire time we were in Maine! But here are Suzy's chickens I like the head dress on the one crazy guy- check him out! (up there on the left hand side)
These two are deep in conversation.

Sunny sunday, dah-dah, dah-dah dah dah! (to the tune of "Monday, Monday")
Cameron has been at it again, baking more bread, this loaf is for Ethan and Hannah for taking care of Millie while we were in New England last weekend. He also made this phenomenal vegetable soup. He's quite the cook!
Driving to a park to take Little dog on a walk, I think she decided to rest up first.
Little Millie in all of her glory- a very Boston Terrier pose...
And here is the sweater I am still working on- I think I blogged about it back in January! It's a shrug sweater- and I am working on the sleeves at the moment. It's made in one complete piece- this is the back of the sweater, the ribbing is the "hem".

I took it with me to New England last weekend where I received some help and guidance from my fellow knitters! I have a smaller- summer weight shrug pattern I am going to get started on soon, I will post pictures of that as it progresses!

Spring in your step
The trees on our street have bloomed and with the intense rainstorm today the petals have begun to fall like pieces of confetti, a little spring party for this friday afternoon!
I am participating in this evening's art loop/ first Friday. Just a collection of 9 small oil paintings of flowers, mostly quick 1 hr studies. I will post images this weekend.
